Notable town landmarks include the Moot Hall which, for the past 400 years has been the meeting place of Aldeburgh Town Council, situated right opposite the White Lion Hotel. The Church of St Peter and St Paul on the hill leading into town is noted for its memorial window dedicated to the memory of Benjamin Britten and designed by John Piper. Britten, Peter Pears and Imogen Holst are amongst those buried in the graveyard of the churchyard. There is also a memorial to the crew of the Aldeburgh lifeboat, who perished in 1899.

For those artistically minded you may be interested in the sculpture that is dedicated to Benjamin Britten, the Scallop is a talking point in Aldeburgh and the site has attracted plenty of visitors since the scallop was unveiled in 2003.
